Thing To Do With Kid Ewa Beach
July 25, 2017
It is a life everyone dreams of - living in a resort-style Kapilina Beach home in beautiful Hawaii. With a secluded beach and a community filled with fun and often free things for children to enjoy, it is like a life-long vacation.
Ewa Beach, Hawaii
Ewa Beach is a beautiful community in Hawaii in the county of Honolulu. Before Ewa became a town, it was a huge plantation. The influence Ewa Sugar Plantation made on Hawaiian economics was substantial. The railroad was a big part of that. The railroad was in place to transport produce and sugarcane to processing or market. This plantation, the sugar production, and the ability to transport products made Ewa a major player in the financial health of Hawaii. However, in the 1980’s the sugar plantations began to fail.
By the 1980’s many investors began to look at Ewa Beach. This was a hidden jewel. The assets it offered other than for food production were untouched. It was a natural beauty in a prime area as it was close to many attractions that brought in citizens and tourists. The housing boom began. Beautiful homes began springing up. These were not your average neighborhood homes. These were resort style apartments, beach front mansions, and homes with all the modern luxuries and conveniences. This brought in influential and successful people who lived the good life. This is where this class of people chose to raise their children. They moved to paradise.
Kapilina Beach Homes
Everything a family would want in island living is built into this community. Kapilina Beach Homes are beautifully placed within pristine lagoons, more than a mile of private beaches, with every modern amenity. But these are not just apartments. They are luxurious homes built for families. Adults enjoy fine dining, world-class golf courses and clubs, museums, arts, a thriving nightlife and a safe and friendly community. Children have wide open spaces, water parks, parks, playgrounds, sports parks, and activities for year round enjoyment.
Fun things to do with the kids
Hawaiian Railroad Society
This is the only historic railroad on the island. Ride the train for a beautiful trip along the sea and learn about the history of the railroad in Hawaii. Learn firsthand what an impact this invention had on the lives of all the people of the islands. There are picnic areas for you to enjoy before and after the ride. There is also a stop along the way for ice cream. This is an inexpensive activity for the family and it is operational year-round.
For a water park to be this big of a hit in a water paradise like Hawaii, it must be more than a normal water park. Wet-N-Wild is in the top 10 most visited family attractions in Hawaii. It was recently voted Honolulu Magazine’s “Best Family Attraction”. This water park is unique and anything but average.
Wet-N-Wild Hawaii sits on 25 acres of land and offers 25 rides and activities. It is the only water park in the state of Hawaii. Residents are given a discount and season or annual passes are available so the park is available to your child anytime they want to go. Besides the thrilling rides, the park presents movie nights, and Summer Twilight with extended hours to enjoy the park in the twilight hours of the day. The rides are rated for you from “chill”, “moderate”, to “extreme”. No matter the age of the kids, there are rides that will thrill them. They have video Karaoke night and huge end of summer bashes for teenagers.
Of course, there are many food and drink carts throughout the park. However, Wet-N-Wild Hawaii also has a cafe for a real meal. Adults can relax and have drinks at an on-site bar and enjoy watching sports on the big screen television while the kids have fun.
White Plains Beach
White Plains Beach is a less used and more private beach, perfect for your family day of sea fun. It has an exposed reef break which creates great surfing conditions year-round. Even new surfers are welcome as there are surfing lessons available and if you need to rent your equipment, that is also an option.
There is a rocky area close to the shore which adds to the privacy. Monk seals feel right at home here and you are almost guaranteed to see one or two venture onto the sand to bask in the sun. Water fun includes but is not limited to:
You are treated to spectacular views of Diamond Head and Honolulu in the distance and a panoramic view of this island paradise.
