September 30, 2019
After you've spent some time at the apartments for rent in Honolulu, you know that when it comes to food festivals, Hawaii has a reputation for doing it big. This is something you'll see on full display at the upcoming Hawaii Food & Wine Festival, set to run from October 5th all the way through October 27th. There are events galore planned for the festival, and to get you better acquainted with what's going on, we've prepared this short primer that will introduce you to everything you need to know in advance of this very special October. Ready to learn more? Read on, and discover what awaits at the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival.
What the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival Is All About
Food and wine are in the title, so it'd be safe to assume that they'll play a big part in the festival, and you'd be right. It's more than that, though, as the festival organizers point out. It's about food true, but it's also about discovering the spirit of Hawaii, its rich culture, and sustainability:
"Set in the lush island paradise of Hawaii, the Festival takes place over three weekends on multiple islands, featuring a roster of over 150 internationally-renowned master chefs, culinary personalities, and wine and spirit producers. Our mission is to reignite a love of the land, looking back to a time when Hawaii was 100% sustainable. Come share in the diverse cuisine of this world-class destination and Taste our Love for the Land."
Included in the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival are fun events like Pasta la Vista. Aside form being a clever play on words, this event will be giving you an opportunity to catch a masterfully-prepared six-course meal, prepared in the Italian tradition and remixed with some of that unique Hawaiian flair. There will also be diversions for the kids, in the form of events like the Halloween Costume/Trick-Or-Treat Party. Presented by HMAA in collaboration with the famous "Cake Boss," Buddy Valastro, the kids will also have the chance to do some cupcake decorating and participate in various challenges.
And don't forget about the auction that's going along with the festival. You can donate to the auction, or prepare to bid on some items, but either way, know that the proceeds are going to help out the festival's non-profit organization, and to help support other culinary and agricultural community organizations within Hawaii.
All-in-all, this will be a great way to get out of the house in October and enjoy yourself while simultaneously doing some good for your fellow Hawaii residents. Be sure to save a weekend or two in October so you can join in on the action.
